Friday Favorites

THISSSSSSS!!! Even though a ton of awesome things happened this week this was THE MOST AMAZING. I'm sorry if #1: you don't watch New Girl and this doesn't mean anything to you and #2: if you do watch New Girl and this is a spoiler, DEAL WITH IT! So. Many. Feelings. LOVE!

 

These stunning enamel Chevron Studs from Baublebar. Studs are my daily go-to and these bring together a perfectly trendy graphic chevron design, a shimmering stripe of rhinestones and two of my favorite color combinations. I have been eying a few Baublebar items for awhile and keeping a list of my favorites. I might have to make my very first purchase now!

LUSH has released their 2013 Valentine's Day collection. If I have time this weekend to stop by Crabtree Mall I would love to test out the new products. Their Valentine's Day page is really fun too.

I bought this black Women's Ponte Colored Boyfriend Blazer from Walmart on Tuesday night before Aaron and I met our wedding photographer in Clayton (more to come on that soon!) I usually don't find tailored blazers that look good on my body, but this one magically has a perfect cut, easily fits into my wardrobe and I feel fierce when I wear it! FIERCE! It's on sale right now if you're interested in picking one up.

So This Happened...

My boss brought her cat lead in to work the other day and let me borrow it. She said that her cat would just pancake out on the floor whenever she put it on, but I might have better luck using it with Skwisgaar because he is still so young. 

It took some time (and a lot of hand biting) for me to get it on him, mostly because I couldn't figure out which strap should connect to which clip, but eventually we got it all outfitted! I took Skwis outside and he seemed okay, but he didn't want to walk. He just wanted to eat grass. I am pretty sure he was going through sensory overload, but he didn't freak out so it's a start!

I think he liked his time outside in the Autumn air. After having an outdoor cat for so many years, I worry that Skwis isn't getting enough fresh air (whoa, that sounds like a mom...) We will try again soon!

Downton Abbey Season 3! I just caught up on episodes 1 through 4. I know the US release isn't until January, so I won't say very much, but it is so good! 

Even though it's not real vintage I really like this lovely new school Jadite Tumblr from Terrain. There are so many beautiful things in this shop. I also especially like their blue Agate Earth Coasters.

Friday Favorites

My new Thunderbird boat sole Minnetonkas! I have seen these babies on so many blogs and I had them save in my Amazon wishlist multiple times. When Skwisgaar chewed through my other pair of moccasins, I figured it was time for an upgrade. I love them!

Speaking of shoe loves, I came across these Madison Avenue Espadrille Wedges from Ruche. They are on sale!

This cute list of Autumn enjoyment found here. We have been enjoying numbers 7, 14, and 16 a lot this week. Next Friday we will be celebrating #17 in OHIO!!!

Aaron and I are going downtown in a bit to celebrate Sukkot and Shabbat with the Raleigh Jewish Community then meeting up with friends for First Friday! We don't have too many weekend plans except for visiting the Durham farmers market tomorrow morning and I have to return a coat to Old Navy.

Meet Skwisgaar

This is our new kitten, Skwisgaar. We adopted him on Sunday from the Wake County SPCA. He is 3 months old and was born in Raleigh. He is very affectionate. He has so much love and is not skimpy with the cuddles. His favorite toy in a fluffy brown mouse. He enjoyed climbing on everything in our apartment, playing fetch with his mouse, chewing on our couch and having his belly scratched.

Our Skwisgaar is named after Skwisgaar Skwigelf who is a member of the fictional band Metal band Dethklok from the animated series Metalocalypse. Skwigelf is said to be "taller than a tree" and he is Dethklok's renowned lead guitarist. He has been coined "The Fastest Guitarist Alive" as he exhibits a specialty in speed scales. As such, we lick to call our Skwisgaar, the little rocker.

We are so happy that he is part of our family!
