Hammock Pack Review: February

This is my fourth box from Hammock Pack. After skipping the January box I decided to order this one because February is a tough month for me. My mid winter blues pop up more often than I would like, so I decided to send myself a treat.
I think this will be my last box for awhile, at least until after the wedding to help keep my budget in check. However I will most certainly be watching for the monthly reveals on the Hammock Pack Facebook page and reviews written by other bloggers so that I may live vicariously through them!

The theme of February's box was Movie Night. Such a perfect theme for me! If you don't already know, we LOVE the movies in this house and we love snacks just as much. This collection arrived wrapped in plum tissue paper with hand stamped white hearts. A romantic yet modern presentation.
The card with this month's box reads, "Valentine's Day is the perfect reason to show your loved ones how much you care. It's also the perfect excuse to treat yourself. Sometimes escaping your weekly routine is as simple as relaxing on the couch with a good movie. So get cozy, enjoy some snacks, and ignore your to-do list. After the credits roll, we hope you're nice an relaxed for next month's doorstep getaway." Since most of our evenings involve getting cozy on the couch and watching a movie, this collection could not be more perfect!

This box included a Movie Night Bar from Komfortes Chockolates, a box of Parmesan & Rosemary popcorn Quinn Popcorn, a pack of striped pale pink paper straws from Oh La La Paper, a set of four Cinnamon Vanilla Soy Tea Lights from Pure Palette Scents (they smell so good!), and 1 box of La-dee-dahs from Whimsical Candy.
My #1 favorite item in this box was the movie night chocolate bar. It was (notice: past tense, it was too delicious to stick around for long) a 64% dark chocolate bard filled with Halfpops, which are partially air-popped popcorn kernels. It was a perfect mix of sweet and salty. The other edible in the box, the La-dee-dahs sounded good, but they were hard to chew so I think I will add them to the candy jar at work.
I have not been able to try the Quinn Popcorn yet, because we don't own a microwave! We never found one that would fit in our tiny apartment kitchen. I might take a bag to work and try it out there.

The straws were a big hit with Skwisgaar who loves to play with any drinking straw he can get his paws on. I want to buy a set in navy or mint to use as cocktail straws for out wedding!

How did you treat yo self in February?

Hammock Pack Review: December

This is my third box from Hammock Pack. I decided not to sign up for the October or November boxes because $25 every month feels like a strain on my budget, but December and the holiday season is the best time to treat yourself, and that is what Hammock Pack is all about!

The theme of this month's box was Ski Lodge. Soft white tissue paper wrapping with a beautiful red bow that looks like a cozy sweater was a perfect choice for the wrapping for this box. I tried to tie the ribbon around Skwisgaar to make him a festive kitty, but that didn't work out so well...
The card with this month's box reads, "Skiing is one of our favorite winter activities, but relaxing in the ski lodge is a close second. As the temperature drops, nothing beats curling up next to a crackling fireplace with a steaming cup of cocoa. So cozy up with us by the fire with these wonderful winter treats. As you warm your spirits, we hope you're nice and rested for the next month's doorstep getaway." I have never been skiing, but based on what in this box, I think that I would like it!

This box included a jar of The Balm: Lavender from West 13 Bath & Body, a Minty Pattie Candy Bar from Sweet Lydia's, one Salted Caramel Hot Chocolate on a Stick from Ticket Kitchen, a full size jar of Snowdrift Body Lotion from Firebird Bath & Body, a bag of Dark Chocolate Marshmellows from 240 Sweet, and a pack of two Classic Stroopwafels from The Good Batch.

My #1 favorite item in this box so far is the Snowdrift body lotion. It smells like fresh evergreen tree mixed with vanilla and peppermint, and it was made in Baltimore! Oh yeah, and I am hoarding that hot chocolate on a stick like it is liquid gold.

Hammock Pack Review: September

This is my second box from Hammock Pack. I have really enjoyed most of the items in both boxes and have found that many of the beauty products have made their way into my everyday routine (especially the eye pillow from last month's box).

The Hammock Pack website states, "Every month, you’ll receive a surprise pack filled with everything you need to take a much needed getaway without even leaving your home." I definitely agree with this. Both boxes have included items that I would never think to purchase for myself, but I feel like I am treating myself when I use them. I really like that this the theme and goal of their company. It's probably why I chose to over the hundreds of other subscription boxes.

The theme of this month's box was Camping. Burlap wrapping with a bow was the perfect choice for the wrapping for this box. Rustic and chic all in one. I took the teal ribbon and tied it around my mason jar that is currently containing my farmers market flower bouquet.

This box included a two pack of Black n' White s'mores from S'more Bakery, a full size (!) container of Tea Tree Mud Mask from Halo Soap, a bag of All Out Nuts's Everything Nice Blend, a tin of Healing Salve from Herbivore Botanicals, and a bar of Charcoal Soap from Oh! Sudz.

I love everything in this box! My #1 favorite item is the mud mask. Aaron and I had fun with it on Sunday. It did a great job clearing up some left over acne spots and making my skin feel smooth.

Hammock Pack Review: August

Some of you may know that I spent six months working for a surprise package company, but never saw the fruits of that labor. After reading reviews of many different surprise package companies on blogs, I finally decided to purchase subscription to Hammock Pack starting in August since it is my birthmonth! What better time to treat yourself?

I chose Hammock Pack because each box is filled with not just food or beauty products, but a variety of artisan items, many of which can be found on Etsy. Each box fits under the umbrella on a monthly theme. Their website states,
"Every month, you'll receive a surprise pack filled with everything you need to take a much needed getaway without even leaving your home. Whether it’s as simple as a movie night or mementos from that exotic vacation you can’t find the time to take. So relax and let a little “me time” come to you."
The theme of the August box is Bed & Breakfast. The box was beautifully wrapped in starry night tissue paper with a craft paper coffee cup cut out label tied on with raffia. Also included was a well designed card with a note from Hammock Pack owner, Erin and a listing of each item with a description, a photo, and a web link. The box included a Paradise Bath Boutique travel-size Summer Peach bath collection, two Mamas Baby Love handmade washcloths, two Keep It Sweet Desserts chocolate chip cookies, a Ferris Wheels eye pillow, 2oz. of Apropos Roasters small-batch coffee, and two Folktory granola bars.

I am so happy that Bed & Breakfast was my first box! I adore this theme. The washcloths and eye pillow are my favorite items in the box so far. They are so soft! Originally I was only going to subscribe for 1 month, but I am so happy with this box, I am going to keep my subscription going.

Have you ever signed up for a surprise subscription service?

P.S. Did you spot my curious kitten?
