Weekend Recap

Please note, in the top photo my face is expressing how much fun I was having and how delicious Cathy's homemade chocolate chip cookies (seen in second photo) tasted!

Good Morning! We had a full weekend of beautiful weather. After work on Friday afternoon Aaron and I walked around Lake Lynn and then picked up Mexican for dinner. Later that evening we went over to our friends Cassie and Cathy's house for game night!

We learned how to play a role-playing card game called Munchkin. The tag line for this game is, "Kill the monsters, steal the treasure, stab your buddy." It seemed to be very confusing in the beginning, but after a few rounds we got the hang of it and had a great time!

On Saturday we went to see Oz the Great and Powerful and stopped by Target to pick up a box of liter for the feline member of our family. I had a chance to FaceTime with Dana, who was still in New Orleans on her Spring break trip at NOLA. Aaron went to a brewery opening and a Gaslight Anthem concert with our friend Carmen, so I went on a Menchie's run and then Skwis and I snuggled in for a Sex and the City marathon.

On Sunday morning while Aaron slept in, I went to the NC Farmers Market to meet a few friends. I enjoyed a tall cup of freshly squeezed orange, lemon, and lime juice while we walked around the stalls. It was craft show weekend, so many of the produce stands were moved out and temporarily replaced by artisans who were selling jewelery, wood shop items, pottery, garden decorations, and beautiful hanging terrariums. I left with a bag of apples for our lunches this week.

After running errands and cleaning up around here, we decided that the weather was perfect to spend some time out on our balcony. We tag teamed Skwis into his leash so he could sit outside with us without me having to worry that he would jump though the railing.

We concluded our weekend with a quick trip to Crabtree Valley Mall to pick up our favorite Chinese food for dinner that we enjoyed while we watched a few shows that we had on the DVR. With daylight savings time and the weather inching towards Spring, it really felt like a transitional weekend. I am looking forward to what is to come!

I hope you had a good weekend too! Did you get to go outside?

  1. Hey friend!
I own the game Munchkins and I have no clue how to play it. Now that I know that it's fun, I might put the effort in to figure it out.

    Thanks for sharing :)

    1. Hey girl! It's great to hear from you!

I totally recommend Munchkin for a lighthearted game night with friends. We didn't bother reading the rules, we we lucky to have a Munchkin expert in house who walked us through the game. I'm glad he was there because I hate reading the rules of new games!

If you play, let me know what you think!
